Friscare
Terms and Conditions
Applicability
These general terms and conditions apply to all intake and treatment agreements, both verbally and written, between the psychologist and the client.
Professional code
Psychologists at Friscare work in line with the professional code for psychologists of the Nederlands Instituut voor Psychologen (NIP).
Duty of confidentiality
The psychologist has a duty of confidentiality towards third parties and will only share data with third parties with your permission. The psychologist may only break her obligation of confidentiality in emergency situations. If consultation is necessary with colleagues, your permission is not required, if those colleagues are also bound by a duty of confidentiality.
Treat Agreement
Within the treatment, the agreements as described in the Treatment Agreement will be leading. The client will receive this Treatment Agreement in his/her online portal and must return this signed prior to the intake interview. Failure to comply with the agreements as described in the Treatment Agreement may ultimately lead to the psychologist being forced to suspend or terminate the professional relationship because he believes that there is a ‘important reason’ for termination. 1
File creation
Your data is kept in a secure, digital file. Your file is not accessible to anyone other than yourself, except the practitioner and the coordinating practitioner. You have the right to inspect your file, but not the right to inspect your psychologist’s work notes or confidential correspondence. Your file will be automatically destroyed after 15 years or sooner after your written permission.
Legitimation
At the psychologist’s request, the client must be able to identify himself by means of a valid ID. The client ensures that Friscare is aware of the correct home address, e-mail address and a telephone number where he or she can be reached. Changes must be reported as soon as possible, in writing or by email to info@friscare.nl.
Online appointments
Online appointments may be made during the intake process and treatment. In this case, the appointment will take place via a secure video call connection. You will receive an invitation by email prior to the appointment to participate in the appointment. By clicking on the link in the email you will be taken to an online video room where the appointment will take place. Please note: this invitation will only be sent shortly before the online appointment.
Rates and compensation
The Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZA) determines the maximum rates for the treatment that can be declared to your insurance. Friscare is cooperating on a ‘contract-free’ basis with healthcare insurers. The costs of the treatment are usually fully or partially reimbursed. Please inquire about this with your health insurer.
To be eligible for reimbursement from your health insurer, you need a referral from your GP, which explicitly states that the client is being referred for General Basic Mental Healthcare and the suspicion of a (possibly further specified) psychological disorder. The referral must state the name and date of birth of the client, and the name and AGB code of the referrer. The referral must be dated on or before the date of the first appointment and may not be more than six months old.
Invoicing and payment
The invoicing and financial administration at Friscare is fully outsourced to Infomedics. At the end of the month you will receive an invoice with the costs incurred that you pay to Infomedics. You must independently declare this invoice to your health insurer in order to claim your reimbursement.
All questions and contact regarding invoices, payments and deferment of payment will be handled via Infomedics. Visit the Infomedics contact page for contact options, or call: 036 – 20 31 900.
Cancellation/change of appointment
Planned appointments must be changed/canceled by the client no later than 48 hours before the time of the intake and/or treatment. Changing/cancelling an appointment must always be done in writing by emailing your practitioner or info@friscare.nl.
If you are not present at the time of the appointment and no change/cancellation has been received within 48 hours before the appointment, the psychologist will charge a no-show fee. This no-show fee is equal to the original costs of the intake or consultation (excluding VAT). No reimbursement can be claimed from a health insurer for the no-show fee and it does not count in the calculation of the deductible.
Payment conflicts
With repeated conflicts about payment, the bond of trust between the client and the psychologist can come under great pressure. This can ultimately lead to the psychologist being forced to suspend or terminate the professional relationship.
